Bucket List

Do you have a bucket list?
There’s a movie:

There’s a website called Bucketlist

The urban dictionary defines it as a list of things to do before you die. Comes from the term “kicked the bucket”.

So what’s my bucket list? What are the things I want to do before I die.. it’s interesting to think about – most of the lists are 100 things or more.. but really, I don’t know if I have that many – here’s my list or the start of my list…

  1. Be completely debt free
  2. Go to Fiji
  3. Go to Europe
  4. Swim in the South Pacific
  5. Go back to Napa and spend more than 1 day
  6. Sit and enjoy Alex, watch him learn and grow – cherish these days
  7. See a major sporting event, ie Olympics, World Cup, NCAA Championship .. something
  8. See baseball games with Ray & Alex in historic stadiums – Fenway, Wrigley
  9. Make this blog somewhat of a success
  10. Own a business
  11. Be proud of my career and make Ray & Alex proud
  12. Be the best mom to Alex (and if God decides to bring another sweet baby into our lives)
  13. Be content with what I have.. know that God has a plan – no matter how hard that is to believe sometimes – it’s the truth.

So 12 things don’t seem like that much. There are little dreams or wishes that I have for my life and for Alex’s life – but I get hung up on stuff that doesn’t matter, stuff that takes time and energy away from those important things.

I also have a RIGHT NOW list..

  1. Make an extra $250/week with freelance jobs (or find a full time gig that pays more and gives benefits)
  2. Organize and decorate Alex’s room and our master room
  3. Take Alex on some summertime adventures – the lake, camping, etc.
  4. Get into shape

These things don’t seem hard either – but when you get down to it – it all revolves around being motivated. I am motivated right now to get into shape – for a number of reasons, that when I think about makes me cry – but motivated none the less.. I am motivated to figure out a way to make more money for my family, we’re fine – but I feel like we could be better – and I feel like my hubs works his butt off – and I could sure lose some of my butt – and work a little harder as well!

I am fearful that Alex will struggle with proper eating and finances like I have my whole life – I don’t want that for him. I want to teach him and somehow make him see the importance of doing things different then how I did them. I am lucky to have married a man that has an unbelievable work ethic.. I hope Alex learns that from him! For sure there are things that I hope Alex gets from me.. I’m not a total mess – but it’s easier to see the positive things in Ray and those I hope Alex gets from him.

All for now.. I will be updating on how the freelance stuff is going.. below are some newer items I have recently designed. Please be sure to recommend me if you know anyone needing baby announcements, wedding stationary, birthday party invites, menus, business cards or logo design!

The things one does when they are forced to get up at 3:40am

Yes.. 3:40am. I feel like I might be drunk.. but that’s impossible – considering I haven’t a drop of alcohol in 2 days!

The Captain has been peeing out of his diaper – and in the days where he can’t get his pants off – he lays in bed, soaking wet, and cries until I get up and get him. This am I tried putting him in our bed after changing his clothes and diaper – but it didn’t work – he couldn’t settle down. So we went to the living room, turned on Megamind, got a snack and mama went to asleep on the couch… for 5 minutes…. so here I am .. 10am – shocked it’s not 4pm – and I’m exhausted and out of Chocolate Syrup – for my chocolate milky loving son.
Have you ever wondered if you can make your own Hersey’s syrup? Well you can!

I found a blog called, One Good Thing by Jillie, and she had an awesome recipe – so here I am in my kitchen, waiting for the syrup to set up… I will give my review later today or in the am.. let’s hope it doesn’t come at 4am!

Cheers! Hope your having a wonderful Saturday!

…And….I’m Back!

SUPERSTAR!

I will admit, it’s been awhile. For the two of you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting and wondering what happened to me..I am truly sorry! My life has been complete madness for months – and then, for mothers day, I was given a NOOK – and I have been reading my buns off! So, I truly apologize. Doesn’t it suck when life gets in the way of all the things you’d rather be doing!

Since it’s the end of the TV watching season – I thought I would update you on the shows that I loved, hated, came and went and everything in between this season. You might remember the list I gave you of all my favorites from this post. Here is the list again, with some comments and additions. Again – comments and ridicule and everything in between are welcomed. Bring it!

Monday:
7pm – HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER – It makes me SO sad every year when this show ends.. Thoughts on the finale you ask?? Ted won’t end up with Victoria (love her BTW), Barney and Robin – Yay! And really Wait for it for a middle name.. that’s dumb.
7pm – Gossip Girl – I am still very much not ashamed by this – I love this show! My favorite is when Blair is being Blair – and not weak and whiney and calls Chuck, Bass.. Love it!
7:30pm – 2 Broke Girls – I like it – Hubs hates it..
8pm – Two and a Half Men – Didn’t love it. The more pathetic Alan gets – the more I kind of hate this show. I loved Ashton Kutchers Waldon ..
9pm- Castle – Love. Love so hard! Love!

Tuesday
:
7pm – Glee! A Gleek, I AM!
7pm – New Girl – Love!
9:00pm – Gilmore…errr… Parenthood – What happened to this show? Did it get cancelled?? I’m confused!!

Wednesday:
7pm: Modern Family – I love the Wednesday time slot here. It was a great season!
7:30pm – Cougar Town or Happy Endings – depending on the time of year, I guess..
8:30 – Don’t Trust the B

Thursday:
7pm – Big Bang Theory
These shows all change their times so much..
Office, 30Rock, Parks and Recreation
9pm- SCANDAL! If you are not watching this show – you need to RUN to your DVR and set it to record. It’s great!

Friday: 9pm – Fairly Legal
Saturday
: The day of rest for the DVR

Sunday:
Mad Men
I was watching GCB – but apparently it’s been canceled – which is upsetting – I thought it was a really cute show!

So that’s all I’ve got for now.. however, I promise to be back soon.. SOON. I promise!

xoxo (just like Gossip Girl does it!)
